COVID-19 – Union Ministers To Meet Today And Discuss Post Lockdown Plan

A group of Union ministers are going to conduct a meeting on the evening of the 21st of April.  The meeting is scheduled to discuss the measures post lockdown, after the 3rd of May.

According to sources, after the 3rd of May, the Central Government might announce a few relaxation for the citizens of India from the strict guidelines of the nation wide lockdown.  However, the relaxation would be allowed only in the areas where the spread of the Novel Coronavirus is under control.

This time, the Government of India (GoI,) is unlikely to extend the lockdown and would lift the lockdown 2.0 with strict social distancing guidelines and mandatory mask wearing in public.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh would chair today’s meeting and discuss the lockdown exit plan with other union ministers.

The sources close to the exit plan development said, “Social distancing and masks has to become a way of life.  These will be mandatory for a long time now.”

Besides, airlines and passenger trains are expected to be banned for at least the 15th of May.  Only travel within districts or cities is likely to be allowed, gatherings of people would be banned, weddings, religious congregations and other big meetings would also be not allowed for a while.

Meanwhile India on the 21st of April, reported a total of 18,828 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 with 601 fatalities.
