Digvijay Singh Files His Nominations For MP Rajya Sabha Elections

On the 12th of March, Digvijay Singh, a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) filed his nomination paper for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Madhya Pradesh (M.P.)

The nomination came after the recent drama which led to the resignation of 21 MLAs including 6 ministers and exit of one of the strongest leader Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Digvijay Singh submitted his papers to Vidhan Sabha, the Returning Officer (RO) and the principal secretary of M.P., A.P. Singh.

While the Rajya Sabha elections are scheduled at the end of the March, the Kamal Nath led State Government is on the edge to collapse.

With the current turmoil in the State the INC has a total of 120 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs,) but if the resignation of the 21 MLAs is accepted, the number will fall to 99.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has a total of 107 MLAs in M.P., and could stake the claim to form the Government in M.P.
