Abuse in the field of medicine is not unheard of. The case here is of a senior doctor of Government Medical College has been booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for assaulting a final year student. The accused Dr. Bhupesh Khajuria, HOD of the Department of Forensic Medicine has been absconding and the police are on the lookout for him.
According to the MBBS final year student, the Doctor summoned her to his office with the pretext of discussing the exams results. After she went he tried to assault her, she ran out of the room and contacted her parents regarding the same. The police have registered a FIR on the senior Doctor based on the written complaint of the student.
Under the Ranbir Penal Code section 354, the case has been registered and the statement of the girl has been recorded. The police are now looking for the accused. The Government Medical College has notified the principal’s office in this regard and a five-member panel has been formed to do an in-depth interrogation in this matter.
