The Election Commission of India (ECI) appointed a 15 member committee to monitor poll campaigns and elections procedures.

Notably, special observers who are civil servants with a good track record and excellent work profile are going to supervise electoral functioning, in five poll-bound states.

On February 1, the ECI held a meeting with these special observers regarding the work. Notably, general assembly elections in Manipur, Goa, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh are scheduled from the 10th of February till the 7th of March.

Results of the Assembly elections are scheduled to release on the 10th of March.
