Federal Front: KCR To Meet Akhilesh Yadav On Wednesday

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will meet the Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday in Hyderabad. The two leaders will hold discussions at Pragathi Bhavan. KCR and Yadav are expected to talk about the CM’s plans for a Federal Front.

This comes after the IT Minister and KCR’s son K. T. Rama Rao met Yadav in Lucknow. KTR took to Twitter and posted a picture of him and Yadav with the caption, “Always a pleasure meeting someone so humble and grounded.” This meeting led to speculations that KTR met with Yadav to discuss the Third Front also called the Federal Front.

KCR has been on a roll meeting regional party politicians. Last week, the Telangana CM traveled to Chennai and met DMK Leader M. Karunanidhi and its working President M. K. Stalin.

KCR described his meeting with Stalin as very delightful. The two party heads discussed various issues including autonomy of states. KCR and Stalin held a joint press meet after their discussion. The TRS Chief told reporters he aims at a Front for the people of this Country.

Reporters questioned KCR if he plans to push West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2019 elections. To this CM KCR explained the Front was for the betterment of the country and not for power.

At the meeting, KCR asked Mr. Stalin to be the Chief Guest at the launch of the Telangana Government Scheme this month. Stalin said his discussions with KCR circled around political issues and any announcement of an alliance would be done during the elections.

KCR first met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and discussed the Federal Front. CM Banerjee was the first politician to call KCR once he made the announcement of a new front. Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan has also showed interest in KCR’s plan for a third option (apart from BJP and Congress) in India’s politics.
