Finance Minister Arun Jaitley To Present Budget In Parliament Today

Today the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will present the Budget for the financial year 2018 to 2019 in the Parliament. The Budget will be a detailed report of the Government’s finances for the coming financial year.

Market watchers and citizens expect this year’s Budget to focus on the farming sector and the fiscal deficit. It is also expected to concentrate on the tax sops for the middle class and corporate sector. This is the last full year Budget before the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an earlier interview said, “I believe that our first priority is to find out a solution for our farmers who are in distress.” He further added, “This is my personal belief that ease of doing business is very good but in a country like India, the ultimate goal should be ease of living. That is why my focus is more on ending the struggles of the common man who has to fight the system.”

Arun Jaitley will present the Budget at 11 A.M., in the Parliament. A live interview with the Finance Minister is scheduled for 2 P.M. At 4 P.M., a post Budget Press Conference will be held followed by a discussion with the Economic Advisory Council at 4:30 P.M.
