The individual filed false taxes by hacking with the PAN card number he gained online.

The Gurgaon Police on Saturday registered a FIR against an anonymous person for hacking into the server of a private company. The hacker demanded a ransom of 15 bitcoins which is equal to Rs. 25.6 lakhs.

The general manager of Mohan Clothing Pvt. Ltd, Mattoo Jay Kumar approached the police to launch a complaint about the same. Kumar informed the cyber cell and said his company has a computerized warehouse at IMT Manesar. He said that this stopped working at 2 AM on June 16 and the in charge of warehouse immediately approached top management about the same.

When Kumar went to the location, he could not figure out the actual reason for the sudden shutdown. In his complaint, Kumar wrote, “The company later received a threatening email in which it was told to transfer the fund in bitcoins form in a specific account.”

He added, “The cyber attacker had used ‘Ransomware’ virus to hack the server of the company. According to the email, the hackers threatened to wipe out all financial data and bank transactions of the company to make it bankrupt if it did not meet their demands.”

A senior police officer said that the hackers would solve the problem only if the demands are met. He also said that the Cell was investigating the matter. The police believe that this is the same virus attack that spread in more than 150 countries in sectors like banking, telecom, power, and aviation.
