New Delhi: India to participate in World Earth Hour today between 8:30pm to 9:30pm. This is to spread the message of energy conservation. Earth Hour will be observed by switching off electrical appliances between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm.
India will join an billion people in over six cities across the globe to observe Earth Hour.
As the Earth Hour coincides with the India-Pakistan match in ongoing T20 World Cup, power distribution companies have urged people to cheer for India while observing the Earth Hour.
Earth Hour is an annual international event created by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund) that urges households and business establishments across the world to turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances for an hour at the appointed time, to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.
