The Indian Army on the 15th of December, killed two Pakistan Army soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC.)

The incident took place due to a retaliation of ceasefire violation at the Naushera sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

Though the incident took place late night of the 15th of December, it came into light on the 16th of December.

The Army official present at the spot said, “Two Pakistan Army soldiers were killed along LoC opposite Naushera sector by Indian Army while retaliating to ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army there yesterday. (Sic.)”

On the 13th of December 13, the Vice Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Lt. General Satinder Kumar Saini said that the number of ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir has increased with an escalation in the calibre of artillery used by the other side to target civilians.

The two soldiers of the Pakistani Troop were killed and identified as Naik Shahjahan (35) and Sepoy Hameed (21.)

The Pakistan Army alleges, In 2020, India violated the ceasefire at least 2,970 times, killing 29 people and wounding at least 249 civilians.

On the other hand, India, which does not release data on the number of casualties and ceasefire from such altercations said, “The ceasefire violations across the LoC have increased this year if you compare the figures with last year or the year before that.”

Firing of weapons at the LoC is a violation of an agreement signed between Pakistan and India in 1999,the bilateral ceasefire agreement.

The agreement was signed to maintain peace and avoid any kind of violent incident, which is a violation as per the agreement.
