Indian Girl Tarishi Killed In Dhaka Attack, Body To Be Flown To New Delhi

New Delhi: Indian girl Tarishi Jain was killed in the Dhaka attack. She was 19 and was the first victim to be identified. On Friday evening, Tarishi and her two other friends, Abinta Kabir and Faraaz Hossain went to the Holey Artisan Bakery and were killed by the terrorists.

Reports says that Tarishi was one among the hostages and would have been subjected to torture before being killed as it is evident from the injuries on her body. The family identified her body and the last rites will be held in Uttar Pradesh.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted, “I am extremely pained to share that the terrorists have killed Tarushi, an Indian girl who was taken hostage in the terror attack in Dhaka.”

“I have spoken to her father Shri Sanjeev Jain and conveyed our deepest condolences.The country is with them in this hour of grief.”

“We are arranging visa for the family. My officers are on the job.”

“Tarishi was 19 years old. She passed out from American School Dhaka. Presently, she was a student at Berkeley.”

“I spoke to Tarishi’s father and offered him all assistance. We have arranged Visa for family and they are flying tommw.”

“We are coordinating with Tarishi’s uncle Rakesh Jain.”
