An Indian origin doctor was stabbed to death in Kansas near his clinic. Dr. Achutha Reddy’s body was found behind his clinic in East Wichita with multiple stab wounds.
The police have arrested Umar Rashid Dutt in connection with the murder. The doctor was from Miryalguda Nalgonda in Telangana.
The police reported that the attack started in the clinic and then the doctor was chased down by the assailant into the lane.
Todd Ojile, Police Lieutenant reported that the incident began at around 7 P.M., on Wednesday. The office manager at Reddy’s Holistic Psychiatric Services, heard loud noises from the doctor’s room. He ran in to find Dr. Reddy being assaulted by the accused. The manager tried to stop the attack giving Reddy the chance to flee but the attacker was persistent and followed him into the lane and killed him.
The emergency medical team that arrived at the crime scene pronounced Reddy dead.
The accused was caught after a security guard alerted the police about a man covered in blood inside a car near a country club.
This is the second crime against an Indian in Kansas. Engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla also from Telangana was shot dead in February.
