On the 18th of July, Tuesday, four terrorists were killed in an encounter between the military forces and militants, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
According to sources, the encounter broke out after a joint operation carried out by the security forces in the Sindhara area of the Poonch sector, on Monday night, the 17th of July. The first engagement between security forces and terrorists took place at around 11:30 P.M., on Monday. The Indian Army officials, Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Rashtriya Rifles and Security Forces launched the operation and drone surveillance after getting an input regarding the militants’ presence in the region.
Speaking about the encounter, the Indian Army officials said the encounter started again on Tuesday morning with a heavy exchange of fire between the security forces and terrorists. Sources further revealed that the terrorists killed in the operation are most likely to be foreigners and their identities are being ascertained. In addition, after the encounter, the security forces have also recovered a huge amount of arms and ammunition from the spot.
Meanwhile, the search operation is still underway in the area.
