JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar Reaches Hyderabad, To Meet Rohith’s mother

Hyderabad: JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar reached Hyderabad on Wednesday. He is out on bail in a sedition case and will visit Hyderabad Central University today at around 5 pm. He is also expected to meet the mother of a Dalit PhD scholar Rohith Vemula, who committed suicide at the hostel room of Hyderabad Central University on January 17. Kanhaiya Kumar is also expected to join the protest against the suicide of Rohith and will return to Delhi on March 25.

On Tuesday, an AISF member said, “Kanhaiya is leaving for Hyderabad tomorrow along with a delegation of JNU students and members of All India Students Federation (AISF). He is expected to address the protest gathering over Vemula’s suicide and also meet his mother.”

Kanhaiya had met Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi at his Tughlaq lane residence on Tuesday and also thanked him for his support during the ongoing controversy.
