Kutch: Pilot Dies In Jaguar Aircraft Crash

An Indian Air Force Pilot died after the Jaguar aircraft crashed in Gujarat’s Kutch. The plane took off from the Jamnagar airbase and crashed near the village in Kutch. The flight crashed in a field with cattle grazing killing them.

A Defense Spokesperson announced Air Commodore Sanjay Chauhan was on a routine training mission. The spokesperson further added the officer lost his life in the crash. The debris from the plane scattered over 340 kilometers from the crash site.

This accident comes a few months after an Indian Air Force helicopter crashed in Majuli island in Assam. The crash resulted in the death of Wing Commander J. James and Wing Commander D. Vats.

Defense Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Manish Ojha said, “Today morning a Jaguar aircraft on a routine training mission from Jamnagar crashed around 10:30 A.M.”

The Air Force Headquarters ordered a Court of Inquiry into the cause of the accident. The Jaguar is a British French Jet Attack Aircraft with a twin engine.
