Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Vishwanath Shetty was stabbed multiple times in his Bengaluru office on Wednesday. Shetty was rushed to a hospital and is not in danger. Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy said the accused Tejaraj Sharma has been arrested.
Tejaraj Sharma is a private contractor from Tumakuru in Southeast Karnataka. He placed a complaint to the Lokayukta against some tenders. Sharma entered the Government complex at around one in the afternoon to meet the Justice.
Home Minister Reddy said, “According to the information I have, someone claiming to be an advocate had gone to the office and stabbed him.”
Sharma pretended to be an advocate to get into the building. He managed to slip the knife past a faulty metal detector on the ground floor.
