The last rites of Lalji Tandon, the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, was held on the evening of the 21st of July.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Madhya Pradesh and other leaders attended the funeral of Lalji Tandon.
On the morning of the 21st of July, Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon passed away.
Lalji Tandon passed away at 5:35 A.M., on the 21st of July, after a prolonged illness.
Mr. Tandon was admitted to a hospital after complaining of breathing problems, difficulty in urination and fever. He has been undergoing treatment since the 11th of June.
Hearing the demise of Lalji Tandan, Prime Minister Modi and Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, took to Twitter and expressed their condolences to Lalaji Tandan’s family.
Mr. Modi posted a picture of himself with Lalaji Tandan and said, “Shri Lalji Tandon will be remembered for his untiring efforts to serve society. He played a key role in strengthening the BJP in Uttar Pradesh. He made a mark as an effective administrator, always giving importance of public welfare. Anguished by his passing away.”
He further added, “Shri Lalji Tandon was well-versed with constitutional matters. He enjoyed a long and close association with beloved Atal Ji. In this hour of grief, my condolences to the family and well-wishers of Shri Tandon. Om Shanti.”
President Kovind said, “In the passing away of Madhya Pradesh Governor Shri Lal Ji Tandon, we have lost a legendary leader who combined cultural sophistication of Lucknow and acumen of a national stalwart. I deeply mourn his death. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.”
Lalaji Tandan’s last rites were performed at Gulala Ghat in Lucknow at 4:30 P.M.
