After days of suspense, the Maharashtra Government finally announced the Cabinet ministers’ portfolios.  With the allocation of ministerial berths, Ajit Pawar was officially announced as the Deputy Chief Minister again.

On the 5th of January, the Shiv Sena led Maharashtra Government, with its allies, the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP,) announced the portfolios.

Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the Governor of Maharashtra, approved the list, which provides key ministerial berths to Ajit Pawar, Aaditya Thackeray, Anil Deshmukh, Hassan Mushrif, Yashomati Thakur and others.

Below is the list of ministers and their portfolios:

  • Uddhav Thackeray (Shiv Sena): Chief Minister, Administration, Law and Order
  • Ajit Pawar (NCP): Deputy Chief Minister, Finance and Planning
  • Aaditya Thackeray (Shiv Sena): Tourism, Environment
  • Ashok Chavan (INC): Public Works Department (PWD)
  • Subhash Desai (Shiv Sena): Industries, Mining, Marathi language
  • Chaggan Bhujbal (NCP): Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Protection
  • Dilip Walse Patil (NCP): Labour, Excise
  • Anil Deshmukh (NCP): Home Ministry
  • Jayant Patil (NCP): Irrigation
  • Nawab Malik (NCP): Minorities Affairs
  • Balasaheb Thorat (INC): Revenue
