In a major drawback for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Delhi Government, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) gave the sanction to prosecute Mr. Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi.
On the 22nd of February, Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government approved the prosecution of Mr. Manish Sisodia under the Prevention of Corruption Act, in the ‘Feedback Unit’ alleged snooping case. The Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi Government is facing an investigation into its ‘Feedback Unit’ (FBU) which was set up in 2015, for snooping allegations.
It is to be noted, the pressure for the investigation came after the BJP’s continuous protest against the Delhi Government for the past few days. Besides the ongoing Delhi Liquor Scam investigation, the BJP also demanded an investigation into the alleged FBU snooping case. The BJP said the FBU was involved in political snooping, following which Delhi Lt. Governor Mr. Anil Baijal ordered the closure of the Feedback Unit.
The BJP is now demanding a FIR against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the matter.
