In Punjab’s Patiala, a minor boy, 10 years old, allegedly robbed Rs. 35 lakhs from the main branch of State Bank of India (SBI) Bank located at Sheranwala Gate.
Happened on the 3rd of August, the shocking incident came to light on the 4th of August and became news headlines. Getting into the details, On the 3rd of August, Wednesday, at around 11:30 A.M., the boy with a 25-year-old man is behind the heist, which was captured on CCTV. As per the CCTV footage and initial investigation by the police, it is revealed that the boy and the 25-year-old man conducted a recce for around 25 minutes. Reportedly, the bank official kept the money bag behind the cash counter at the time of the incident.
Furthermore, the Patiala Police investigating the matter said, “The theft took place in the SBI at around 11.35 am today. The bank officials had kept the bag containing around Rs 35 lakhs at a cash counter for depositing in the ATM. We have checked the CCTV footage and a minor boy could be seen running away with the bag.”
The superintendent of Police (SP) of Patiala Police Mr. Wazir Singh said, “The boy entered counter number five and took away the bag without being noticed. He was in and out of the bank in less than 30 seconds.”
The police registered a case and launched an investigation, asserting that no bank staff was involved in the crime, which happened due to the negligence of the SBI Staff.
