Uttar Pradesh: The body of a minor girl was found hanging from a tree on Saturday after she was gang-raped in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. The 15-year-old was reportedly missing from her village on Friday.
According to the girl’s family, she was kidnapped from Lucknow’s capital, Nanpara by three men of the same village. One among the three accused was known to the deceased and had allegedly asked her to meet him.
Soon, two other men joined him. The three men allegedly raped and murdered her and later hanged her body from a tree to make it look like a suicide.
A manhunt has been launched to track the third accused, the police said. Four constables have been suspended for failing in their duties. Two of the three accused named by the victim’s father have been arrested so far.
