Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi made allegations about Prime Minister Narendra Modi being Corrupt. The previous week Rahul said, “I have personal information regarding corruption involving the Prime Minister. If I will speak, his balloon will burst. He is scared. Modi is personally terrified with the information I have. The PM will be exposed if the information I have comes to the fore”.

The statement made by Rahul Gandhi shocked the entire Country and questions were rife about the BJP– if Modi was really involved in corruption. On Wednesday Rahul Gandhi revealed the suspense by accusing Modi of taking Rs. 40 crores from the Sahara Group while the Birla Group had paid Rs. 12 crores to the former Chief Minister of Gujarat.

The BJP denied the allegations stating it was a “false, baseless charge.” The party accused the Congress Vice President of diverting attention against the allegation made on Rahul on Agusta Westland chopper scam.

Earlier, advocate Prashant Bhushan leveled charges against Prime Minister Modi based on the same evidence in Supreme Court. On Wednesday, Rahul claimed that the documents recovered from the Sahara and Birla groups in 2014 were the basis of the proof.
Speaking at the rally in Mehsana, Gujarat, Rahul said, “ Now I want to ask Modiji whether this information with the income tax department is true? Modiji, you are now the Prime Minister of India and questions are being raised about you. There has to be an answer to these questions, therefore, there is a need for an independent inquiry to ascertain the facts mentioned in the diary”.

The former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav also asked Modi to reply to the allegations made by the Congress Vice President. Lalu Prasad tweeted saying, The manner in which Rahul Gandhi has accused PM Modi of Rs. 40 crores corruption, that too in Gujarat backed by documentary proof is not an ordinary matter. The silence of the PM was denting his image abroad and therefore he should come out and explain.”

Prime Minister is yet to reply to the allegations made against him.
