Narendra Modi has good news for rural areas as he announced free electricity would be provided to four crores rural homes.

Modi also reported this decision would cost the government, Rs. 16,320 crores.

The Prime Minister said the connection will be delivered at each one’s doorsteps.

The news was reported at a function at the ONGC Bhavan where Modi launched the “Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojna” scheme that works towards providing electricity to all households.

The scheme is aiming at 31st March 2019 as the target to complete providing electricity to all houses that do not have power.

Once Modi launched the scheme, he said, “We care about those families who do not have access to electricity. Our motive is to brighten their lives through the Saubhagya Yojana.”

He further stated the aspirations of the poor will determine the future working of the National Democratic Alliance government.

He further added, “It’s unfortunate that four crore houses in the country have no electricity till date.”
