Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of the legendary players  and former Captain of the Indian Cricket Team, will soon start training with the Parachute Regiment battalion.

On the 21st of July, Bipin Rawat, the Army Chief General, approved Dhoni’s request to train with the Parachute Regiment battalion for 2 months. In 2011, M.S. Dhoni was awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Dhoni is also a part of Territorial Army 106 Infantry Battalion, which is one of the battalions the Indian Army has for the Parachute Regiment.

After the approval of the Army Chief General, Dhoni will spend 2 months with the Parachute Regiment battalion in the Kashmir Valley. Although he will be training with the battalion, he will not be a part of any operation during the 2 months.

This is not the first time Dhoni is going to train with the Indian Army. In 2015, Dhoni trained with the elite Para regiment in Agra. Dhoni also completed parachute jumps after this training.

Due to Dhoni’s training with the Parachute battalion, he is not a part of the Indian squad selected for the West Indies Tour, which is scheduled to start from the 3rd of August.

The announcement regarding the dates of M.S. Dhoni’s training is yet to be made.

Stay tuned for further updates.
