The last rites of Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, is scheduled to be held on the 11th of October, Tuesday.
The last rites would be held in the native village of Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party (SP,) in Saifi, Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking about the funeral, a senior official of the SP said, “As of now we cannot disclose the names but the tentative list includes a large number of top politicians from the Centre and state.” Furthermore, for the funeral, the SP workers have been up all night preparing the ground for cremation, and space for parking cars and helipads, in the view of VVIPs and VIPs, and attending the last rites.
In addition, Mr. Ram Gopal Yadav, the Samajwadi Party (SP) General Secretary, said, “The body will be brought to the ‘pandal’ for the last ‘darshan’ on Tuesday morning. It will be taken to the cremation ground around 3.p.m., (sic.)” He further said, “The cremation will be held at the family cremation site also called ‘Samadhi Sthal’ near the Saifai Mahotsav venue. It was here that Mulayam Singh’s brother Ratan Singh Yadav was also cremated.”
Notably, on the 10th of October, Monday, Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away while undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, after a prolonged illness.
