The Union Finance Minister (FM) Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, on the 31at of January, presented the Economic Survey for the fiscal year (FY) 2022.

The survey was projected in the Union Budget Session, which started from the 31st of January. As per the survey, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to increase by 8-8.5 % in the next fiscal year.

Starting from April 2022 till March 2023, the next Fiscal Year would see growth in various sectors of India, to accelerate the GDP.

In addition, the National Statistical Office (NSO) also projected 9.2% GDP expansion in 2023.

During the Economic Survey presentation, Ms. Sitharaman said, the Economic Survey noted that economic activity has recovered to pre pandemic level. It further added that the economy is well placed to take on challenges in 2022-2023.

The Economic Survey is an annual document prepared by the Ministry of Finance under the guidance of the Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) and it provides a summary of annual economic development across the country during the financial year 2021-2022

Moreover, FM Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on the 1st of February.
