Panama Papers: Nawaz Sharif, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai among 500 Indians in tax havens

New Delhi: Over 11 million documents of Mossack Fonseca reveals elites tax havens, Panama based law firm have been leaked. The document called ‘Panama Papers’ reveals worldwide network of overseas companies helping the rich to hide their assets.
The documents has exposed famous personalities, who secretly do their business dealing offshore. Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, DLF owner KP Singh etc are among the list, according to the Indian Express reports.

The leaked documents stated that Aishwarya Rai and her family members were part of a company incorporated in the British Virgin Islands, a tax haven, for at least three years. The company shortened Aishwarya Rai’s name to A Rai for reasons of confidentiality. The company also changed Aishwarya’s statues in the firm; from director to shareholder.
The Pakistan PM’s family floated 4 offshore companies to ‘park money’ in Panama. Names of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is also came out during the probe, data claims.

More than 100 media groups were involved in the investigation and it is described as one of the largest such probes in history.
