The parents of two of the deceased in Delhi accident have set an example and decided to donate the eyes of their dead children. Sanchit Chhabra and Ritu Singh were killed in the car accident on Monday morning at Punjabi Bagh in Delhi. The children were on their way to attend an exam when the accident occurred.
Raj Kumar Chhabra, Sanchit’s father said that he would have donated all the organs only if the thought occurred to him at the right time. He said, “By the time an NGO approached us with the request for the donation, only eyes of my son were usable. We agreed to donate his eyes without a second thought. My son was a helpful and friendly boy. Even in his death, he will be helping people.” Ritu Singh’s father Malkhan Singh also said that they will keep in touch with the people who will receive their daughter’s eyes.
Sanchit and Ritu were with their friends Rishab, Garima, Pranav, Rajat and Raja when the accident occurred. They all belonged to Delhi Institue of Professional Studies and were on way to IP College in Narela when the car drove off the flyover.
