Search Operation led by Security Forces in Kashmir

On Wednesday, in the Shopian district of South Kashmir, was cordoned off by the Security forces and a search operation was launched. Security forces working on a tip off are in search of a terrorist in the area. However, the forces are struggling to finish the task as people are not being cooperative and in stead pelting stones at the forces.

A large group of security forces have been appointed for this search in Xainapora area in Shopian. An army officer reported more forces have been sent to the area to handle the mob that is pelting stones.

Fortunately, there have been no casualties reported between the stone pelters and the security forces. The officials also informed that the search operation is still on going.

The search operation is the second in the district of Shopian, the first was done to remove the militants. The security forces did not find anything during their day long search operation on 4th May. The search operation was spread across almost two dozen villages with the help of nearly 4000 troops. The Army was attacked by terrorists while retreating from the operation at the end of the day. The attack led to the death of a cab driver and injuring quite a few security personnel.

The security operations have intensified in South Kashmir after the huge amount of videos of terroristst have surfaced on social media. Although, the government has banned sites such as these, nearly 30 videos have surfaced on other social media sites. The intelligence received by the security forces suggest that these videos have been shot in the South of Kashmir and mostly in the Shopian district.
