Bhutan king Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is all set to begin his two day India tour, starting from the 4th of April, Tuesday.
According to sources, Jigme Khesar Namgyel arrived on Monday, the 3rd of April and was welcomed by Mr. S. Jaishankar, the Union Minister of External Affairs, at the Delhi Airport.
Highlighting the schedule, the Bhutan king would hold talks with Ms. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India and Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
The External Affairs Minister Spokesperson Mr. Arindam Bagchi, said, “Warm welcome to India, Your Majesty! His Majesty the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck arrived in India a short while ago. His Majesty was received by EAM @DrSJaishankar at the airport.”
It is to be noted, the visit holds a significant importance as Bhutan holds strategic importance for India along with defense and security ties between the two countries.
