Hyderabad: The participation of BRS MLC Basavaraju Sariah in an internal meeting of Congress leaders in Khammam on Thursday has stirred speculation in Rangampet. The meeting, attended by senior Congress leaders including former MP Ramasahayam Surender Reddy, Government Whip Dr. Ramachandrunaik, and Mahabubabad MLA Dr. Muralinayak, discussed election strategy with Khammam Congress Lok Sabha candidate Raghuram Reddy.
Amidst rumors of Sariah’s potential move to the Congress, when questioned by the media, he clarified, “Surender Reddy is like a mentor to me. I went to congratulate his son on receiving an MP ticket. A decision has not been taken on joining the Congress yet.”
Sariah’s presence at the meeting has fueled speculation about his political allegiance, especially given his association with influential Congress leaders. However, Sariah maintains that no decision has been made regarding his party affiliation, suggesting that his attendance was merely a courtesy gesture.
