Tiruvuru: Addressing a gathering during an election campaign in Tiruvuru, Krishna district, AP Congress president YS Sharmila questioned Chief Minister Jagan’s understanding of the importance of special status for Andhra Pradesh. She emphasized the potential job creation and economic benefits associated with special status, expressing disappointment over the lack of progress in this regard during Jagan’s five-year tenure.
Sharmila also criticized Jagan’s handling of farmer issues, highlighting the failure to effectively utilize the price stabilization fund of Rs. 3,000 crores and provide support to farmers affected by crop losses. She pointed out the absence of promised job calendars despite five Sankranti festivals passing, questioning the government’s commitment to employment generation.
Furthermore, Sharmila condemned the government’s contradictory stance on alcohol prohibition, alleging that despite the ban, inferior quality liquor continues to be sold, leading to health hazards and kidney damage among consumers.
