On the 25th of April, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated French President Emmanuel Macron on his re-election. Mr. Narendra Modi took to Twitter and said, “Congratulations to my friend Emmanuel Macron on being re-elected as the President of France! I look forward to continuing working together to deepen the India-France Strategic Partnership.”
After winning the elections, Mr. Emmanuel Macron gave a speech and said, “Many in this country voted for me not because they support my ideas but to keep out those of the far-right. I want to thank them and know I owe them a debt in the years to come.” He further added, “No one in France will be left by the wayside.”
It is to be noted, that Mr. Emmanuel Macron comfortably won a second term on the 24th of April, Sunday. He secured 58.55% of the votes and secured a Presidential term for the next five years. Mr. Emmanuel Macron won against his rival Mr. Marine Le Pen.
