Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to address the Nation on the 14th of April, at 10:00 A.M.
Central Government officials confirmed the news regarding the same. This would be the third time Prime Minister Narendra Modi would have addressed the Nation regarding the ongoing pandemic illness, the Novel Coronavirus infection.
The first address to Nation was on the 24th of March, when PM Modi announced a 21 day lockdown, the second time was on the 3rd of April, asking people to light diyas for 9 minutes at 9:00 P.M., on the 5th of April.
The third address to the Nation is expected to be an announcement over the ongoing lockdown and whether it would be extended or would be lifted.
The 14th of April is the last day of the 21 days Nationwide lockdown. If the Modi Government lifts the lockdown, it would be an ease for enterprises, stores and malls, which were shut under the guidelines of the lockdown for the past 21 days. However, if the lockdown is extended, it would be an issue for the small businesses, which are suffering losses due to the lockdown.
While the lockdown would affect the majority of people in several states, the citizens of Telangana, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh would be least concerned as the state governments announced an extension of the lockdown in their respective states till the 30th of April..
The reason to extend the lockdown in these states was the rapidly increasing number of COVID-19 cases. Maharashtra is the only Indian State which crossed 2,000 cases of the Novel Coronavirus infection.
The Prime Minister’s address to the Nation is scheduled two days after a brief meeting with the chief ministers of Indian states. Mr. Modi along with a few union ministers conducted a meeting and discussed the extension of the lockdown and precautionary measures and a post lockdown action plan to deal with the Novel Coronavirus.
Tomorrow’s address to the Nation would answer all the questions and doubts regarding the lockdown, officially.
