Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Russia on the 4th of September.

During his two day visit, Mr. Modi will attend the 5th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok and also conduct a bilateral summit with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.

On the 2nd of September, the External Affairs Ministry announced Mr. Modi’s Russia visit.  Vijay Gokhale, the Foreign Secretary, said the Russia visit will last for 36 hours.

Mr. Modi is scheduled to attend the Eastern Economic Forum as a chief guest, following which, he will conduct the 20th annual bilateral summit.

Vijay Gokhale said, “Soon after arriving in Vladivostok on Wednesday, the Prime Minister will visit a major shipbuilding yard with Mr Putin. The two leaders will hold delegation level talks later in the day followed by dinner.”

The bilateral meeting is intended to enhance the business relationship between India and Russia and also affect the bilateral trade and investments in different fields.

Before PM Narendra Modi’s visit, S. Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister, Piyush Goyal, the Commerce and Industry Minister and Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor, visited Russia and did all the arrangements for a successful visit.

Mr. Modi will leave for Russia on the 4th of September and is expected to return to India on the 6th of September.
