Across India and other regions many politicians, celebrities and sports persons lost the privilege of a verified blue tick on Twitter.
On the 20th of April, after the deadline ended, many people including Shah Rukh Khan, Virat Kohli and others lost their verified status. Notably, Mr. Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, announced that the blue tick verification status would be given to users, with a subscription. The deadline for the same was the 20th of April. After midnight, many Indian and foreign users, including famous people, lost their verified status.
Meanwhile, with the dropping revenue and profit of Twitter, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Elon Musk is planning to boost the economy status of the micro-blogging site. He also reduced the man force to 1,500 from the previous 8,000.
