Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has hit the headlines by his controversial statement on ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai‘ row. Baba Ramdev said, I respect the law, else would have cut the heads of those who don’t say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.’
In Sadhbhavna Sammelan organised by the Rashtriya Swadhbhavna, the Yoga guru Baba Ramdev said “we respect this country’s law and Constitution, otherwise if anybody disrespects Bharat Mata, we have the capability of beheading not one but thousands and lakhs.”
The opposition has been attacking the government and its supporters for trying to define what equals patriotism.
Bharat Mata Ki Jai issue started after AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi said that he would never chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Since then, a good number of politicians and public figures have aired their opinion about the phrase.
