Delhi: In a historic move, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has chosen Rekha Gupta as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Gupta, who recently won her first term as an MLA, expressed gratitude for the rare opportunity to become Delhi’s fourth woman CM. She joins the ranks of prominent leaders like Sushma Swaraj (BJP), Sheila Dikshit (Congress), and Atishi (AAP), who have previously held the position.
In a post on ‘X,’ Gupta thanked the BJP’s top leadership for their trust and support. She stated, “I am deeply grateful to the party leadership for entrusting me with this responsibility. Your trust has given me new energy and motivation. I pledge to work with sincerity and dedication for the welfare, empowerment, and comprehensive development of every citizen of Delhi. I will use this opportunity to take Delhi to new heights.”

AAP leader and Acting CM Atishi also extended her wishes, acknowledging Gupta’s achievement as a significant step for women in politics. AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal assured support for initiatives aimed at Delhi’s development and welfare.
