The Supreme Court (SC) on the 2nd of March, Thursday, formed a panel of 5 members, to review the ongoing Hindenburg V/S Adani Group row.
On Thursday, the Top Court formed an expert committee headed by former Supreme Court Judge Mr. Abhay Manohar Sapre. The other members of the committee would include former State Bank of India chairman Mr. O.P. Bhatt, retired judge Mr. J.P. Devadhar, Infosys co-founder Mr. Nandan Nilekani, banking veteran Mr. K.V. Kamath and Mumbai-based advocate Mr. Somashekhar Sundaresan.
The expert committee would investigate the matter and point out the regulatory failure leading to investo’s in the Adani row.
After the formation of the expert panel committee, the Gautam Adani led Adani Groups welcomed the development. In an official statement, the Adani Group said, “The Adani Group welcomes the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. It will bring finality in a time-bound manner. Truth will prevail.”
Meanwhile, the formed expert panel has been asked to investigate the matter and submit a detailed report in a sealed cover within 2 months.
