Captain Varun Singh, a soldier of the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the lone survivor of the Tamil Nadu Chopper crash succumbed to injuries. He was undergoing treatment at a Bengaluru Hospital and took his last breath while undergoing treatment.
On the 15th of December, Wednesday, the IAF confirmed the demise of Varun Singh. In a Twitter post, it said, “IAF is deeply saddened to inform the passing away of braveheart Group Captain Varun Singh, who succumbed this morning to the injuries sustained in the helicopter accident on 08 Dec 21. IAF offers sincere condolences and stands firmly with the bereaved family.”
On the 8th of December, Wednesday, the helicopter with 14 people crashed. The concerned authority launched a search operation to rescue others onboard.
Getting into the details, the CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife, defense assistant, security commandos and an IAF pilot were on board in the Mi-series chopper. The helicopter crashed in between Coimbatore and Sulur in Tamil Nadu. The incident killed 13 people including Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat.
However, on Wednesday, the 15th of December, the only survivor Captain Varun Singh also passed away.
