Hyderabad: In a crucial political development Telangana state governor Tamilisai Soundara Rajan resigned to her position. She also tendered resignation to her position as lieutenant governor of Puducherry.
Tamilisai is believed to contest parliamentary elections from Tamil Nadu. Sources said that she is expecting a Chennai South MP seat. BJP top leadership is eyeing to place her from Kanyakumari.
Tamilisai played a key role as governor of Telangana. Difference of opinions with CM K Chandrasekhar Rao led to many political controversies in the state. She rejected a few key recommendations made by the state cabinet which included appointment of governor quota MLCs.
Tamilisai who is doctor by profession expressed humanity and responded to many incidents that happened in the state. She gained a separate fan base among the women.
She aspires to contest for Lok Sabha and play a key role in after 2024 elections. BJP is gaining popularity in the Tamil Nadu state after Annamalai took charge as state unit president.
