Rahul Gandhi in his speech, in an attempt to appeal to the Uttar Pradesh, made a few statements that can be considered outright weird. Rahul, in his speech, said, when a farmer from UP goes to United States after five years, he would find mobile phones there that are manufactured in UP. He said, “We would emboss ‘Made in Uttar Pradesh’ over it, and whichever shop he visits, the entire stock would be from UP.”

Speaking about former FLOTUS Michelle Obama he made chauvanist remarks that did not go down well with the twitterati. He said, “When Obama’s wife would be cooking food in her kitchen, she would admire the utensils. After admiring the cooking utensils she should read the lines ‘Made in Jaunpur’ embossed over them.” This remark did not sit well with users as they felt that the statement meant that women belong in kitchen.
