A massive protest broke out in Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli district, after the death of Gangster Kanhaiya Yadav’s daughter, on the 1st of May.
On the evening of the 1st of May, Sunday, the Uttar Pradesh Police raided the house of Gangster Kanhaiya Yadav, when he was not home. Later, during the raid, the police allegedly thrashed the two daughters of the gangster, resulting in the death of the elder one and leaving the younger one severely injured.
Mr. Sanjeev Singh, the Varanasi District Magistrate said, “Nisha, daughter of gangster Kanhaiya Yadav was found dead in her house. The deceased was allegedly thrashed by the SHO of Saiyyedraja police station after which she died.” The DM further added, “The SHO was suspended and the process is underway to lodge FIR on getting a complaint from the family of the deceased.”
It is to be noted that the raid was conducted in the view of a viral video, in which a woman was allegedly found dead. The Chandauli Superintendent of Police (SP) Mr. Ankur Agarwal suspected Gangster Kanhaiya Yadav to be behind the murder, hence raided his house. However, he was not at home, following which the police allegedly interrogated his daughters and thrashed them.
Meanwhile, protest in the Chandauli district is underway, demanding justice for Nisha’s death. The Samajwadi Party leaders also joined the protest against the Uttar Pradesh Police.
