Kolkata: To escape the gangrape, woman jumped from the balcony of two-storeyed house at Liluah in Howrah on Monday night. She suffered multiple injuries, including to the head and waist. The prime accused, Nantu Bose, alias Nantai, lured the victim from Rishra in Hoogly, to the house in Peryarabahan on the pretext of a party.
The victim’s mother said, “He used to follow my daughter and had proposed her which she had turned down.” Nantu took the 20-year-old to the house. There along with his friends he tried to drug her by spiking her cold drink. The victim alleged, “As I refused (his proposal), Nantai threatened to kill me.” To escape them, she jumped from the balcony.
