Chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to visit New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah in the next few days.
Sources said that the CM is planning to meet Modi and Shah to press for the resolution of pending issues related to bifurcation. Sources said that the CM is expecting an appointment with the PM on July 5. Political circles are waiting for the outcome of the CM’s Delhi visit in the wake of reports about BJP looking for an alliance with TDP.
When Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda criticised the state government at public meetings in Visakhapatnam and Tirupati last month, many speculated that it was BJP’s first step towards TDP.

YSRCP circles dismissed it saying it was part of BJP’s political strategy and their harmonious relationship with the Centre would continue.

“We were never part of NDA or allied with BJP. We will maintain cordial relationship with the Centre as state government and press for the resolution of pending issues. As a party, we are independent and do not rely on any one,” said state government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.

Jagan Mohan Reddy made it clear that he had never depended on any party including BJP for electoral alliance.
TDP suspicious about BJP’s game-plan in AP

YSRCP maintains that it would contest all the 175 seats and challenged TDP and Jana Sena to do so. TDP is waiting for a formal invitation from BJP to forge an alliance. TDP is still suspicious about BJP’s game-plan in state as its top leaders are continuing good relationship with Jagan.

The Centre approving Jagan’s request for releasing revenue deficit grant and adhoc grant for Polavaram has triggered a debate in political circles. Jagan has maintained cordial relationship with the Centre and succeeded in getting additional funds to the state. The Centre had turned down several requests by Naidu between 2014-19. Normally, the Centre would release any financial assistance to states in different instalments. The finance ministry agreed to release the entire balance amount of ₹10,000 crore towards the revenue deficit in one-go.

The Centre also agreed to release Rs. 13,000 crores as adhoc grant for the Polavaram project. The state had been pressing for clearance of the revised cost of the project for the past four years. Instead of approving revised cost estimates, the Centre has agreed to give adhoc grant which signals approval of revised cost estimates.
