India to get its coach by Thursday evening as BCCI president Anurag Thakur confirmed that the board will announce the name of the selected candidate by the end of the day. According to the sources, its Anil Kumble who have grabbed the pole position, the nation will come to know by today evening.
“We are trying that the name is announced by the end of India’s first Annual Cricket Conclave in Dharamsala, which is today. And I hope it is done before the evening,” BCCI president Anurag Thakur told reporters.
On the whole BCCI received 57 application and the list was shortlisted to 21 before handing it to CAC. Few eminent names from the list were Ravi Shastri, Lalchand Rajput, Pravin Amre, Kumble, Tom Moody, Stuart Law and Andy Moles. The CAC, sources said, was bowled over by Kumble’s presentation and has reportedly conveyed his name as the candidate of choice to board secretary, Ajay Shirke said.
