Rashid Khan, the strike bowler of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Sunrisers Hyderabad, was the Man of the Match.

On the 29th of September, SRH and DC played the 11th T20 of the 13th edition of the IPL.

This year, due to the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, the IPL is being held in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE.)

Rashid Khan of SRH gave an outstanding performance and dedicated his Man of the Match title to his mother.

Rashid Khan said, “It has been a tough one and a half years for me, first my dad expired and then my mom (in June this year). And it took a bit of time for me to come back. My mom was my biggest fan, especially in the IPL and when I was the MoM, she would always talk to me through the night.”

Rashid’s triple strike helped Sunrisers to defend 162 for their first win of the IPL season on the 29th of September.

Rashid Khan conceded just 14 runs in his quota of four overs. He also got the big wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer in the beginning of his bowling.

Later in the game he got the wicket of Rishabh Pant. The bowling strategy of Rashid Khan saved SRH, despite scoring less than the IPL standards.

Speaking about his game strategy yesterday, Rashid Khan said he took the benefits of bowling quicker. He said, “I bowled quicker today, when I started and bowled my first ball, I realized it. You need two three balls to know what the right pace is. In these conditions you need to bowl back of a length to the batsmen. Warner (captain) always backs me and tells me that you know what’s best for the team. Only when things aren’t going my way I go and ask the captain what to do.”

In yesterday’s match SRH scored 162 runs with 4 wickets in 20 overs and DC scored 147 runs with 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Stay tuned for further updates.
