The Indian Premiere League (IPL) Cricket team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on the 3rd of September, named West Indies legend Brian Lara as their head coach.
The SRH took to Instagram and officially announced the same, on Saturday. The tweet read, “The cricketing legend Brian Lara will be our head coach for the upcoming #IPL seasons.”
With this announcement, Brian Lara would make his debut as the head coach of an Indian cricket IPL team. Meanwhile, speaking of Brian Lara, he served as the strategic advisor and batting coach of SRH last season.
In addition, the SRH also confirmed that they have parted ways with Australia’s Tom Moody, who had two stints with the Orange Army (SRH) as their head coach. Highlighting about the previous coach Mr. Tom Moody, under his leadership, SRH won the IPL title in 2016. Extending gratitude to Tom Moody, the team said, “As his term with us draws to an end, we would like thank Tom for his contributions to SRH. It has been a much cherished journey over the years, and we wish him the very best for future endeavours.”
Furthermore, the announcement of the new head coach came ahead of the 2023 Indian Premier League.
