In the Ranji Trophy Finals, Madhya Pradesh played impressively, giving fightback to Mumbai on Day 1, on the 22nd of June.
Despite an opening stand of 87 between Prithvi Shaw (47, 79 balls) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (78, 163 balls), Mumbai failed to drive home the advantage on a pitch that wasn’t conducive for strokeplay.
In the game, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Mumbai scored 248/5 in 87 overs, of the 90 overs game. MUM’s Sarfaraz Khan (40 off 125) and Shams Mulani (12 off 43) will resume the action on Day 2, against Madhya Pradesh.
Notably, on the Ranji Trophy finals Day 1, MUM won the toss and opted for batting, which concluded on Day 1, after 87 overs.
The Mumbai team would resume playing on day 2, the 23rd of June and after completing three overs, the Madhya Pradesh team would take the lead and would bat.
