Ravi Shastri Resigns From ICC Cricket Committee

New Delhi: Indian former cricket team captain Ravi Shastri has now resigned as a member of ICC cricket committee. Incidentally, the chairman of ICC Cricket Committee is current Team India coach Anil Kumble, who pipped Shastri to the job after getting nod from high profile Cricket Advisory Committee.

“I have already submitted my resignation. There are personal commitments and I have been there for six years,” Shastri told PTI on Friday without further elaborating anything.

The 53-year-old, who has been part of this committee from along time, wanted to give up this administrative role so that a fresh face could come in. The former India all-rounder had also skipped the committee’s meeting in the first week of June at Lord’s because of his media commitments.
Reports however claim that Shastri in fact had resigned even before this meeting. The ICC website however still features the name of Shastri in the cricket committee. But a final decision regarding the same is expected to be made very soon.
