According to sources, the rift between Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly intensified as both of them unfollowed each other on Instagram. The unfollow game started with Virat Kohli, who is currently busy with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
On the evening of the 17th of April, Sunday, Virat Kohli unfollowed the former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly, following which he also unfollowed Virat Kohli on Instagram. Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly have not seen eye to eye ever since the former was removed from India’s One Day International (ODI) captaincy, when Sourav Ganguly was the BCCI President. The removal of Virat Kohli as the ODI Captain disappointed him, leading to a cold attitude towards Sourav Ganguly. Notably, Virat Kohli had blamed Ganguly for his removal from captaincy and not informing him of the decision.
Since then, even though they are at an event together, they not only avoid any physical contact like hand shake, but also give death stares to each other. The video of Ganguly avoiding Kohli during the players handshakes went viral on social media.
